HTC Vox S710 Smart Phone

Looking for a smart phone, but think Apple's iPhone is too pricey? There are many other options on the market. One that will be arriving on our shores soon is the HTC Vox S710. Today we see how well it measures up against the local talent.

Introduction

With a recent surge in smart phone interest among the public, cell phone manufacturers are pushing out new and innovative smart phones in order to meet the demand. Of course, probably the largest boost in interest was fueled by the release of the Apple iPhone for 2007. Not everyone can get their hands on one of these iPhones because of too much demand, so some people are looking for alternative choices rather than waiting for supply to catch up with demand for the iPhone.

One of these alternatives is the HTC Vox S710 smart phone which was released overseas in the spring of 2007. This phone is scheduled to be released in the states in the summer of 2007. It is creating quite a buzz of its own with its great functionality and features. Some reviews that I have read rate this phone higher, in terms of quality and value, than the Apple iPhone.

One nice aspect of this phone is that it can be purchased unlocked so that you do not have to buy a contract or change cell phone carriers when you purchase it. As of the date of this writing, you can only purchase the S710 online in the United States but that will change soon. I did some research on the price, and found it relatively fair at under $450. The lowest price that I saw for a brand new S710 was $400. That's pretty competitive at this level. This phone costs less than both the iPhone and some of its other competitors -- such as the Nokia N95, which is about $200 more than the Vox.
