The Ultimate Troubleshooter v3.62
When I was asked to review The Ultimate Troubleshooter I was a little leery. Just what I needed: another system tune up application. However, I was pleasantly surprised. This software was different from what I had anticipated, but how well does it hold up?
For this review I was using TUT (The Ultimate Troubleshooter) Version 3.62. At the time of this writing this is the latest version available for download from the London based company’s website. Simply put, TUT is system optimization software. More information can be found on their website.

Upon receiving the software, I decided it was a good idea to learn a little about it. Along with the brochure they provided, I also decided to stop by the company’s website to see what they had to say.
- 900 New Definitions to its well-known Task List. The list can be found on their website and has long since been considered an invaluable resource for learning about background processes. Not only is it built directly into the program, but it includes a painless update utility to make sure that you are always using the latest process information available to you.
- Windows Tuning. A new module that provides access to several advanced Windows settings.
- Faster Updates are available through an integrated update feature that ensures you are always using the latest available information. There is also no need for restarting the program after updating definitions which is a nice benefit over previous versions.
- Set System Restore Point from within the software. This is a great feature that allows you to not only save all changes that are made, but also to provide a roll back point prior to using the software.
- An extended log file to keep track of all changes.
- Housekeeping is a module that takes you through standard maintenance procedures in a single click.
They also emphasize using the “plainest possible language” for process descriptions and recommendations. This software is designed to be simple enough for a complete beginner and powerful enough for experts and system administrators.
There are several different licensing options. The single license is $29. Volume licenses and Corporate licenses are available
All in all, it seemed like a lot to tackle for a program, especially with so many freeware competitors lurking around. Now I was ready to find out for sure.
The installer was just over 15MB and loaded relatively quickly. A few clicks later I was on my way.
